Lights and shadows, a game of contrasts

Hello!

Today I want to share with you some keys about the diversity that light offers us and, at the same time, the lack of it, in the decoration of your home.

Light and shadow are two elements that coexist permanently, and depend on each other. As such, both are inseparable not only in the way they manifest themselves, but also in their effects on our senses.

Depending on your decoration project and the environment you want to intervene in, lighting will be key to generating stimuli. In turn, shadows awaken sensations that can make us feel relaxed, or, on the contrary, awaken anxieties in the place.

As I always say, balance is fundamental for our decoration to evoke the desired sensations. Start looking for more information to find out how warm, neutral or cold lights influence the different atmospheres in your home.

On the other hand, shadows have the capacity to generate different degrees of intimacy. You should always keep in mind that both light and shadow achieve visual compositions that can offer great prominence to certain places, furniture, objects and textures in your home.

I invite you to play with the lights you have at home, to move objects and illuminate them. Then play with the shadows and recognise what effect they generate. And so, little by little, you will be able to make decisions about how to intervene in the decoration of your home with the simplicity of contrasts.

Did you know that it is very important to take into account the circadian cycle to choose the right lighting for your home?

See you in the next post.
